MoSi2 Rods







MoSi2 heating element is a kind of resistance heating element basically made of high pure molybdenum Disilicide. In oxidizing atmosphere, on the surface of MoSi2 element owing to the high temperature combustion a layer of compact quartz protective film is formed to prevent MoSi2 from continuously oxidizing. In oxidizing atmosphere , its max temperature can reach 1800 °C and its applicable temperature is 500-1700 °C. It can be widely used in such applications as sintering and heat treatment on ceramics, magnet, glass, metallurgy, refractory,etc.

TZM alloy







TZM alloy (High Temperature Alloy) is a solid-solution hardened and particle-strengthened molybdenum based alloy. The development of a Mo-Ti solid solution and the fine dispersed Ti-carbides are responsible for the excellent strength properties at temperatures up to 1400°C. The recrystallization temperature of TZM alloy is approximately 250°C higher than moly and it offers better weldability.

The name is from Neo-Latin Molybdaenum, from Ancient Greek Μόλυβδος molybdos, meaning lead, itself proposed as a loanword from Anatolian Luvian and Lydian languages,[4] since its ores were confused with lead ores.[5] The free element, which is a silvery metal, has the sixth-highest melting point of any element. It readily forms hard, stable carbides, and for this reason it is often used in high-strength steel alloys. Industrially, molybdenum compounds are used in high-pressure and high-temperature applications, as pigments and catalysts.
